The sorority women of the Waco, Texas Alumnae Panhellenic want to introduce you to a unique experience you are sure to find both educational end enjoyable – sorority life. Sorority promote high academic standards, personal growth and development, leadership opportunities, good citizenship, service to others and lifelong friendships. We encourage you to explore all the possibilities of sorority membership.
There are 26 National Panhellenic Conference sororities also known as NPC. Fifteen of these are represented by Waco Alumnae Panhellenic. Alumnae Panhellenic represents a cooperative effort of local sorority women who wish to promote sorority ideals and continue the friendships made while in college and after. We are all college alumnae who may be your next door neighbor, your teacher, or your parent’s best friend.
Sororities choose new members each year through a process called recruitment. You must register for sorority recruitment with the Panhellenic office at the college you will be attending. You may receive recruitment information with college registration materials or you may have to request this information from the college Panhellenic office. Contact the college/university you will be attending to find out how and when recruitment materials will be distributed.
Many NPC groups require a recruitment information form in order to be considered for membership. Registering with Waco Panhellenic will assist local sorority alumnae to gather information about prospective members that will be sent to the sorority chapter at the college you will be attending.
Many sorority groups meet in early May and June to prepare reference/recommendations to be sent to their collegiate chapters. Many collegiate chapters begin preparing for the recruitment period in early June. Past experience has proven that prospective members who submit their information forms early have a better chance of being invited to join a chapter on the campus they are attending.
Registration completed after July 1 for Fall Recruitment and after October 1 for Spring Recruitment is not guaranteed to be submitted to the collegiate chapters.
This information will be shared with all NPC groups. Registering with the Waco Alumnae Panhellenic does not guarantee you will be invited to parties of any particular sorority or that you will be invited to join any particular sorority. Providing this information will only assist the local alumnae in preparing you Recruitment Information Form. Each sorority alumnae organization will determine which forms they will send to the collegiate chapters.
